Math Learning Goals: 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication

3.4F(S)- recall facts to multiply up to 10 by 10 with automaticity and recall the corresponding division facts

3.4G(S)- use strategies and algorithms, including the standard algorithm, to multiply a two-digit number by a one-digit number. Strategies may include mental math, partial produce, and the commutative, associative, and distributive properties

Math Homework: Study X facts only (No paper HW due this week)

Please check your student’s homework folder.  We sent home a copy of their Multiplication Mad Minute the Friday before Thanksgiving break.  Please sign and return after Thanksgiving break.

No paper homework was sent home last week due to Thanksgiving Break.  Please study multiplication facts.  We are adding the 3’s this week.   Students are expected to know their facts we learned before the break and now the 3’s

Mad Minute ( Multiplication facts 0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s) is Thursday.  We will send a copy of their Mad Minute home on Friday to be signed.  Our Mad Minute consists of 30 problems and students have one minute to complete as many as possible.  Our goal is go get better each week.

Science Learning Goal: 

3.1B- Make informed choices in the use and conservation of natural resources by recycling or reusing materials such as paper, aluminum cans, and plastics.

3.7A- Explore and record how soils are formed by weathering of rock and the decomposition of plant and animal remains.

3.7B- Investigate rapid changes in Earth’s surface such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and landslides.

3.7C- Explore the characteristics of natural resources that make them useful in products and materials such as clothing and furniture and how resources may be conserved.

3.4E(S)- represent multiplication facts by using a variety of approaches such as repeated addition, equal-sized groups, arrays, area models, equal jumps on a number line, and skip counting

Math Homework:  Math Homework is due Thursday. Homework is passed out on Fridays. Study your Multiplication facts (0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 4’s) We will be sending home some tools throughout the week to help study their facts.

Mad Minute (Multiplication facts) is Thursday and results will be written in their planner on Friday. Our Mad Minute consists of 30 problems and students have one minute to complete as many as possible. Our goal is to get better each week.

Math Homework is due Thursday. Homework is passed out on Fridays. Study your subtraction facts. (This is our last week studying subtraction facts!  We will move on to multiplication facts next week!)
