Week of December 9th – 13th

Math Learning Goals: Continue: 2-digit by 1-digit multiplication

3.4F(S)- recall facts to multiply up to 10 by 10 with automaticity and recall the corresponding division facts

3.4G(S)- use strategies and algorithms, including the standard algorithm, to multiply a two-digit number by a one-digit number. Strategies may include mental math, partial produce, and the commutative, associative, and distributive properties

3.4J(S)- determine a quotient using the relationship between multiplication and division

Math Homework: 

Math Homework is passed out on Fridays and due the following Thursday.  Also, please study multiplication facts (0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, and 6’s) will be tested this week.

Mad Minute ( Multiplication facts 0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, and 6’s) is Thursday.  We will send a copy of their Mad Minute home on Friday to be signed.  Our Mad Minute consists of 30 problems and students have one minute to complete as many as possible.  Our goal is go get better each week.

Science Learning Goals:

3.1B- Make informed choices in the use and conservation of natural resources by recycling or reusing materials such as paper, aluminum cans, and plastics.

3.8C – Construct models that demonstrate the relationship of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, including orbits and positions

3.8D – Identify the planets in Earth’s solar system and their position in relation to the Sun
