December 16 – 20

Math Learning Goals:  Introduction to Division

3.4F(S)- recall facts to multiply up to 10 by 10 with automaticity and recall the corresponding division facts

3.4H(S)- determine the number of objects in each group when a set of objects is partitioned into equal shares or a set of objects is shared equally

3.4J(S)- determine a quotient using the relationship between multiplication and division

3.4K(R)- solve one-step and two-step problems involving multiplication and division within 100 using strategies based on objects; pictorial models, including arrays, area models, and equal groups; properties of operations; or recall of facts

3.8A summarize a data set with multiple categories using a frequency table, dot plot, pictograph, or bar graph with scaled intervals

3.8B solve one- and two-step problems using categorical data represented with a frequency table, dot plot, pictograph, or bar graph with scaled intervals

Math Homework:

Math homework is due Thursday.  It was passed out on Friday.  There will be no (paper) math homework over the break.  I would encourage everyone to still study their multiplication facts over the holiday break if possible.

Mad Minute:  There will be no mad minute this week.  Please continue to study previous facts learned so they will remember them after Christmas Break.  (0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 6’s)

Science Learning Goals: The Solar System  (students will be constructing models of the solar system using recyclable items)

3.1B- Make informed choices in the use and conservation of natural resources by recycling or reusing materials such as paper, aluminum cans, and plastics.

3.8C- Construct models that demonstrate the relationship of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, including orbits and positions
