Math Learning Goals:

3.3 C – (S)- explain that the unit fraction 1/b represents the quantity formed by one part of a whole that has been partitioned into b equal parts where b is a non-zero number.

3.3D – (S)- compose and decompose a fraction a/b with a numerator greater than zero and less than or equal to b as a sum of parts 1/b

3.3 E- (S)- solve problems involving partitioning an object or set of objects among two or more recipients using pictorial representations of fractions with denominators 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8

Science Learning Goals:

3.8B – Describe and illustrate the Sun as a star composed of gasses that provides light and thermal energy.

3.8C – Construct models that demonstrate the Sun, Earth and moon including orbits and positions.

3.8D – Identify the planets in Earth solar system and their position in relation to the Sun.

3.7A- (S) represent fractions as halves, fourths, and eights as distances from 0 on a number line.
