3.3C- explain that the unit fraction 1/b represents the quantity formed by one part of a whole that has been partitioned into b equal parts where b is a non-zero whole number

3.3D- compose and decompose a fraction a/b with a numerator greater than zero and less than or equal to b as a sum of parts 1/b

3.3E- solve problems involving partitioning an object or set of objects among two or more recipients using pictorial representations of fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

Math Homework:  Math homework is due Thursday.  It was passed out today, Friday.   Please study your multiplication facts this week. This week, we are focusing on the 9’s.

Mad Minute:  There will be a Mad Minute on Thursday for the following multiplication facts. (0’s, 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s, 9’s, and  10’s)

Science Learning Goals: Ecosystems

3.9A – The student is expected to observe and describe the physical characteristics of environments and how they support populations and communities of plants and animals within an ecosystem.

3.9B – The student is expected to identify and describe the flow of energy in a food chain and predict how changes in a food chain affect the ecosystem such as removal of frogs from a pond or bees from a field.

3.9C – The student is expected to describe environmental changes such as floods and droughts where some organisms thrive and others perish or move to new locations.

Monday, February 10: PTO Meeting – 6:00pm-7:00pm

Friday, February 14:  Valentine’s Day Party at 12:30 pm

Monday, February 17:  School Holiday- no school for students

Wednesday, February 26:  Early Release- ½ Day- students will be released at 11:30am
