Math Learning Goals:  Problem Solving with Models

3.4A(R)- Solve one and two step addition and subtraction problems within 1,000

3.4B(S)- Round to the nearest 10 or 100 or use compatible numbers to estimate solutions to addition and subtraction problems.

3.4C(S)- Determine the value of a collection of coins and bills

3.5A(R)- represent one and two step problems involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers to 1,000 using pictorial models, number lines, and equations

Math Homework:

Math Homework is due Thursday. Homework is passed out on Fridays. Study your subtraction facts.

Mad Minute (subtraction facts) is Thursday and results will be written in their planner on Friday. Our Mad Minute consists of 30 problems and students have one minute to complete as many as possible. Our goal is to get better each week.

Science Learning Goals: Forces

3.6B Demonstrate and observe how position and motion can be changed by pushing and pulling objects to show work being done such as swings, balls, and wagons.

3.6C Observe forces such as magnetism and gravity acting on objects.

Third Grade Awards Assembly – October 25th

We will be starting a new tradition at White Oak Intermediate.  Mrs. Rock will celebrate students at the end of every nine weeks, instead of just at the end of the year. Mrs. Rock will celebrate students who have all A’s, A/B’s and students who have a 90 or above in conduct for the 1st 9 weeks.  Parents are welcome to attend.

Our first award assembly for third grade will be on Friday, October 25 at 7:45 in the gym.  We hope to see you there!
