Math Learning Goals: Problem Solving and Money

3.4A(R)- Solve one and two step addition and subtraction problems within 1,000

3.4C(S)- Determine the value of a collection of coins and bills

3.5A(R)- represent one and two step problems involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers to 1,000 using pictorial models, number lines, and equations

Math Homework:

Math Homework is due Thursday. Homework is passed out on Fridays. Study your subtraction facts.

Mad Minute (subtraction facts) is Thursday and results will be written in their planner on Friday. Our Mad Minute consists of 30 problems and students have one minute to complete as many as possible. Our goal is to get better each week.

Science Learning Goals: Weather

3.5A- Measure, test, and record physical properties of matter, including temperature

3.8A- Observe, measure, and record and compare day-to-day weather changes in different locations at the same time that include air temperature, wind direction and precipitation

Important Dates:

October 14 – Storybook Character Day form due (This form was sent home Thursday, October 3)

October 18 –

  • Big Kahuna sales end
  • Imagination Fair for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades

October 21 – Student Holiday (Enjoy)

October 24 – Report cards go home

October 30 –

  • Early Release 11:30
  • Storybook Character Day

November 8 – picture retakes
