Important Dates: 

Monday, February 14, School Party Day for Valentine’s Day.

Wednesday, February 16,  Early Release Day.

Math Learning Goals:

3.3 C- explain that the unit fraction 1/b represents the quantity formed by one part of a whole that has been partitioned into b equal parts where b is a non-zero number.

3.3 D- compose and decompose a fraction a/b with a numerator greater than zero and less than or equal to b as a sum of parts 1/b

3.3 E- solve problems involving partitioning an object or set of objects among two or more recipients using pictorial representations of fractions with denominators 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

Math Homework:

  • Math Homework will be passed out on Friday, February 18th. It will be due the following Thursday, February 24th.
  • Please study your multiplication facts (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) . We will have a Mad Minute on Thursday, February 17th . Students will have one minute to solve 30 multiplication facts. This is not for a grade. We will set goals each week to improve fact fluency.

3.8B – Describe and illustrate the Sun as a star composed of gases that provides light and thermal energy.

3.8C – Construct models that demonstrate the Sun, Earth and moon including orbits and positions.

3.8D – Identify the planets in Earth solar system and their position in relation to the Sun.
